Dr MacIntyre also performs corneal transplantation (DMEK and DALK), laser refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, SMILE), and corneal cross-linking here.
Consultations cover the full anterior segment: cataract assessment and biometry, corneal disease (keratoconus, Fuchs' dystrophy, dry eye), refractive surgery workup, and post-operative review.

Bass Coast Eye Centre provides specialist ophthalmology care for patients across the Bass Coast and South Gippsland region, reducing the need to travel to Melbourne for consultations and many surgical procedures.
Dr MacIntyre performs public cataract surgery and pterygium surgery at Wonthaggi Hospital. Private cataract surgery, refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, SMILE), and more complex procedures including corneal transplantation are performed in Melbourne at Northpark Private Hospital, Bundoora.
Consultations, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative reviews can all be conducted at Wonthaggi.

Booking an Appointment
A referral from your GP or optometrist is required to claim Medicare rebates for your specialist consultation with Dr MacIntyre. Please ask your referrer to address the letter to Dr Ross MacIntyre, Northern Eye Consultants, Bundoora.
Your referral should include your relevant ocular and medical history, any recent visual acuity measurements or imaging (OCT, corneal topography, visual fields), and your current medications. If you have had previous eye surgery — including LASIK — please ensure this is noted, as it affects biometry calculations for cataract surgery.
